This is how I feel about work right about now.....

Image of Lurch from Original TV Series by MGM Home Entertainment
(In case you couldn't tell, this is Lurch's frustrated face... I think...)

Its LATE and I am still at work and will probably still be here for many hours to come. As of right now I have been sitting in my cubical for 12 1/2 hours strait........ four gray half walls surrounding me :(

I realized that I have not seen the sun all day.... now I see how the people in Alaska feel.... its really confusing and disheartening.

But alas it will be over 'soon'. Maybe..... they won't tell us for sure. *sigh*

Ok - that's my little sad post for todays blog... back to the drawing table... literally.....

****

And not to leave this post a total bummer.... a couple more Addams Family Fun Facts:

Fact #1 - Wednesday is named after a poem by Mother Goose (believe it or not) called "Mondays Child is Fair of Face" here is the poem in full..... you can see how 'Wednesday' fits the character well:

Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace
Wednesday's child is full of woe
Thursday's child has far to go
Friday's child is loving and giving
Saturday's child works hard for a living
But the child born on the Sabbath Day
Is fair and wise and good and gay.

What Child are you? I was born on a Sunday almost 26 years ago (and hopefully I'll be back to being 'gay' after this night is over!!).....

Fact #2 Wednesday's middle name is 'Friday'.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday!

  1. Oh, Ara, I feel for you. It's the same for me, although I'm working at home so my surroundings are much more pleasing, but there are days where I am strapped to my keyboard 8 to 10 hours a day, 7 days a week working BUT we must be thankful we have work!

I need sunlight . . . . during the winter my hubby gets on me for having all the lights on!

Well, my dear, I am MORE than twice your age!! YIKEES I feel old!!!

I was born on a Wednesday!!

    When is your birthday . . you say almost . . . mine is next week . . . .

    Hugs,
    Marsha

  2. You're very right Marsha, we must be thankful for what we have... work. Even though its really hard when your program keeps crashing!! Argh!!

If I worked from home I would never get anything done!!!

I am acutally a Christmas Baby... So I have a couple months to go :) Planning anything fun for your birthday????

    Hugs -Ara

  3. Oh, that stinks! I've definitely been there, done that, and I feel for you. Sometimes when you're in the middle of a marathon work-day like that it's hard to keep perspective, because it feels like it'll never end. But it will. I hope you get to go home soon! (And thank goodness for internet access, so at least you can check in every now and then!)

  4. Ara, I know what it is like in an architectural firm. Yes, when you have datelines and projects, there's no day or night. But hang in there .

    I was born on a Monday :).

  5. Thanks Belle and Sans :) Well I am finally shutting things down - a few minutes before midnight... earlier than I thought so I can celebrate that!

Its interesting to know what day people were born on (not that I believe the poem)... its just interesting. And interesting that people even know that!! g'night all!

  7. I hear ya Ara...without sunlight coming through at least a crack in the blinds...I go bonkers...one of the reasons for moving to AZ...tell ya what...as we have plenty of the stuff here....and no gray walled cubicals ...come on over for a visit.... anytime!

By the by, I was born on Wednesday....UGH!

  8. Oh dear Ara...hope you weren't there too late.

I have done my fair share of crazy hours....loved it at the time But can't even think about going back to it now.

At least back in England we don't have cube farms.

I was born on a Saturday...yet here I am sitting on my butt lol
